What You Should KnowI was married for twenty-five years and was fifty-five when I finally left my husband. We had been in and out of counseling for ten years, and our marriage was only getting more difficult. Making the decision to divorce was the hardest thing I've ever done. Besides my age and spotty employment record, I am a Christian. It says right there in the Bible that Christians are not to divorce unless adultery is involved. (Matthew 19 verse 9). My goal in writing, God, the Devil, and Divorce, is to chronicle what I've gone through, and to show how God has sustained me during that time. I hope that others who are going through similar circumstances will find comfort and courage. And I hope Christians who have made the difficult decision to divorce will find God's grace in my story.
